The Mandalorian: R5-D4 trading Card '88': version No1

Managed to bag this bargin on eBay, from a UK seller.

Still on the lookout for the other versions, at a reasonable price, but unfortunately the others are in the USA so postage is an extortionate amount, in relation to the card itself, so will just have to settle for this one for now.

2021 Topps Star Wars: Lucasfilm 50th Anniversary - Solo: A Star Wars Story - UK Card #11

Card arrived today.
Cool cardboard package…..

Opened it up to find plastic protected cased card.

So now I’ll have to design up another stand to be able to display it.

2021 Topps Star Wars: Lucasfilm 50th Anniversary - Solo: A Star Wars Story - UK Card #11

 Purely by chance did I see a notification on my phone yesterday from a tweet about this card. I swiped down to read it and immediately clicked on the Topps link.

There was only 3hrs remaining for availability to buy. Thankfully I was able to purchase one and tell a few other interested parties about it.
Only 28 days to wait for its arrival.......

Just need to find a reasonably priced Rogue One card on eBay 😄😄

Trading Cards 2018 - UPDATE

Here are two more cards that I have got hold of, which are of & have ref to R5-D4 on.
I found these on eBay, I can't even remember when I got them now, and forgot to post up.

It's related to event's on Tatooine & R5 is just at the bottom of the drawing. This was created by Katie Cook  Instagram @katiecandraw back in 2013.

The second is an R5-D4 Evolution card from 2001.

Sorry, not the best photo's due to the chrome effect on the card front.
Here's the rear:

R5-D4 Trading cards 2017

Since my first post on my mini collection of R5-D4 trading cards,
I've found a few more.

This was my collection back on my first post back in 2014.

I wanted to find and collect (finances permitting) all the available trading cards which feature (and there aren't many) R5-D4, just as a fun thing to do.

I made up a stand, at the time as my collection was small.

But with the addition of a few more cards,
I'll need to think of a way to display them better.

Here are the new cards added to the collection:
NEW CARD 1
Interesting to note that both views of R5 show him with a round skirt.
Some of the body's did actually have round skirts,
but the 'standardised' flat sided skirts is usually the one
seen and even drawn up.
This can also be seen in the card red boarder card below.
(on my 'to get' list)

NEW CARD 2
This sparkly version is a newer of the plain standard 'grey background' card.
The back is also updated compared to the 'grey' pic version below

~~~~~~~~~~~ This one below, is still on my 'to get' list.
As mentioned in the previous post, another style of trading cards that have become more prominent, is the 'sketch card'. These are artist drawn ones that relate to the films characters. They're rare and hard to find tho, especially here in the UK!
Whilst searching this artist caught my attention, Marsha Parkins.
She created these cards for Topps for Rogue One.
These pics were from an eBay sale (not her's) that I was watching.....$125.00 US Dollars!!
Plus postage to the UK.....
It's not R5-D4, but R5-SK1 who is red & white
and there aren't to many with this colour scheme,
so it's a nice connection
I'd like to add this one at some point......if possible.
~~~Christmas is coming..........

...........lol, how cares!!! Bring on Rogue One :D

I know my kids are as excited as me to see this new Star Wars film.

So I was out on Saturday and popped into my local Toys'R'Us, checked out the range of new toys etc. Then on leaving at the check-out they had these posters on the end, I asked if it was OK to take some, which I was as they were FREE. So picked up one for me and for my two youngest.
Rogue One

It's about A3 size on a thin but weighty card. Next stop was my local Tesco store, where I found the 'trading cards'. I use the term loosely as they are really just promo pics from the new film. The real deal cards will no-doubt be released on Film day. These are still worth getting though, UK versions!

My two packs opened
I only bought a few packs as, although I loved collecting The Force Awakens cards, I didn't really want to be collecting these if they didn't have anything new to see.
