R5-D4 Astromech figure - The Mandalorian (Update 2)

Some really good news!

Saturday, February 3rd, Mike was at an event with R2-TNGO, and messaged me to ask if I had ‘this figure’. The picture he sent me was of R5-D4 from the Mandalorian show! The same figure I was expecting since last year.

R5-D4 Astromech figure - The Mandalorian (Update)

So, back in May 2023:

I (Pre) Ordered from Kapow Toys, (not sponsored) the R5-D4 figure from The Mandalorian.

It was due for release in a month or so, going from the advertising. I waited……nothing.

I emailed them and they said they were waiting on Hasbro to release and it could take a while.

Okay I thought.

June, turned to July, August,September……..

Then I saw an announcement (not via shop) that it was going to be December. By this time I really wasn’t to bothered, as was dealing with other more important issues, my late Dad passing away.

January 2024

I thought right, another email asking for news.

The reply was both anger and disappointment!!

They had received a delivery from Hasbro……but they had then suffered a flood & a lot of stock had been water damaged!!!

On looking at their photos, nothing was on pallets or even off the floor!!!

I have hope that I’m still able to get my purchase, just have to wait and see….

R5-D4 Astromech figure - The Mandalorian

Saturday 27th May:

(Pre) Ordered today from Kapow Toys, (not sponsored) the R5-D4 figure from The Mandalorian.

It won’t arrive till July, December!!!….. but at least I’ve got one. Funny thing is that on looking back I remember picking up the ‘vintage collection’ R5-D4…. in 2011……in May!!!

I had bought it from a local Toys’R’Us (now gone).

I only go for the more screen accurate figures, which saves me some money lol.

Littlebits - Star Wars Droid Inventor Kit - pt 10 (2020)

I've now uploaded the stl files to my Thingiverse page. As well as the standard 'open' pie hole lid, I've also uploaded the 'bad motivator' lid version.

Force Friday 3 - The Rise of Skywalker - Droid Factory set

So last week was.......

Myself and Paul (and the droids) had planned on attending our local Disney Store, but due to a change of plans, this didn't happen.

Being a droid fan, I was excited to see the new Droid Factory 4 figure set, released (in the USA) in connection with the new film 'The Rise of Skywalker'.

A fellow club member is at Disney and sent these great pictures of the new box set. Thanks to Nik H. D-0 has already been seen, but the other three are 'new' R5-2JE, R6-LE5 & R2-SHP.

And here's the rear of the box.

The rear pictures feature the actual toy figures, rather than in the past, they have shown pictures of the actual droids.

Another group member, let me know that there's a UK Facebook group organising a list to purchase these for UK people, so I should be able to get hold of these in a few weeks.

R0-D4 has his own (one off) Toy

Last week over on one the many FaceBook groups, I spotted a comment regarding droids, mentioning Lee Towersey R2-L0 droid & R0-D4 droid belonging to a 'James'.

How cool is that!!! 😎

Funko Pop R5-D4 - Smugglers Bounty **WIN**

R5's for sale via UK sellers are starting to increase in numbers available.

After being highest bidder for almost a week without any other bids, Saturday evening it was all hands to battle stations as the bidding war started.

I prepared myself, but held firm and with seconds to go, retained highest bid and won!

This attempt worked out cheaper than the last one I was bidding on too.

There were two other R5's that finished Sunday & another soon after, if this bid had failed.

Delivery should be the end of the week.

Another great saving the weekend was buying two Funko Pop figures for the wrongly marked price of 95p........YES £0.95p (GBP) lol, the assistant said ok to these two but said she'd have to remove the rest from the shelves lol, until system was corrected.

Posted up on my R5-D4 Instagram feed.

Smugglers Bounty......R5-D4!!!

Being an R5 fan.....obviously, lol, it always bug's me that the little guy

get's over looked by toy people, clothing etc.

And one (and only one I'll be buying) that I wanted

was an R5-D4 Funko Pop figure.

Then a few weeks ago I saw on twitter a feed about Episode 1 C3-P0..... but that wasn't important to be lol, the back of the box was what people had spied.....could it be????

YES it was.....R5-D4.

Well here's the link to the Smugglers Bounty You Tube video

I don't subscribe to these sort's of things, my lose I guess,

but at least I now know that R5-D4 is out there....somewhere lol.
