Instagram - I'm Back!

It's been 4 years since I was last on Instagram!

I gave myself a break from my social media when COVID hit (well nobody was going to be doing anything during lockdown (here is the UK)). And it was actually healthier for my mental state as I would get anxiety about not liking someone's post or missing one that then showed up a few days later in my 'feed'.

With Droid event's starting back up, I gradually came back online with Facebook then Twitter (why it's called X, as everyone still calls it Twitter I'll never know 😁).

Finally I’ve decided to jump back on Insta, search for james_r5d4, to catch-up with everything and also to help promote the upcoming event we'll be hosting here in #Bristol in July..... Have I mentioned it??? 😁😁😁

So I'll be liking a lot, post a little, but generally, re-joining the wider world again.

Calendar - January 2022

This year’s Droid Builders UK calendar introduces Ricardo’s R5-R1 droid.

Ricardo’s dome (head) has the usual R5 ‘eye sensors’ plus the additional ‘Holoprojector’ eye piece, first seen on R5-PHT from ‘Solo a Star Wars story’.

Each month on the calendar will also be a ‘flashback’, this month’s is….

…..when we attended Legoland back in 2018. This was an amazing weekend spent with great (very hot) weather! The cobblestone style surface is a REAL test of any droid lol😄

*unfortunately the club calendars have now sold out*

Here’s a link to my event report for Legoland 2018

Flashback 2012 - R5's Rear Hatch

Here's a flashback to this day back in 2012.

R5-D4's Body Skin 1.8 Rear Hatch upgrade
I had an idea to create a two part rear hatch for accessing inside R5, but once the wood was cut out, it wasn't strong enough, so had to create a one piece hatch.

Flashback - Star Wars heels 2014

These came up on my time line the other day, so thought I'd share this flashback to 2014.

Back story, for those who haven't been following my Blog since back then lol. A friend had seen some decoupaged Star Wars shoes and had paid for them to be commisioned, but was ripped off by the seller and never recieved them. So I looked into how difficult it was to be able to do.

This was an interesting project to work on. Artistic still, but no wood lol. After completing this I was asked to make a few more, different designed shoes for other friends.

Flashback to LegoLand 2018

This event came up on my time line the other day
and with so many good memories of it,
I thought I'd re-share my event report of the weekend.

It was my second time attending, but this one was my first for staying over for two of the three weekend days. The weather was amazing, sunny & hot. This was definatly up there with the best events (friends) I've experianced.
