 A long time ago.......

Seven years ago today [well, yesterday lol].

My own designed patches arrived.

R5-D4 Patch's via Etsy: soon to be discontinued

 

With limited numbers of R5's patch remaining

& also the level of interest now dropping off,

I've decided to discontinue offering these on

my Etsy page.

I'll be away soon, so the shop will be closed for two weeks, and then re-opened for a week. I will then remove the patch/sticker from my shop.

Just wanted to say a BIG thanks to all those who have purchased these patches, it was a fun design project for me to create them and I hope you have enjoyed, displaying it and or wearing it.

Today is the 3 year anniversary of my R5 patches.

 Had this congratulations email today from YouTube for all my videos uploaded in 2020 lol......all 12 minutes of them :D . Stock take the weekend and I only have just over
90 patches left.

I advertise 10 for sale at a time on my page.

I take some while attending events in case someone wants to buy one.

The majority of the patches have been sent to the USA,

First patch sale on Etsy this week!

It's had a few likes, but my first customer is an R5 fan

who plans on wearing my patch on a custom jacket

to Star Wars Celebration in 2019.

My R5-D4 Patch box

Decided that I needed a box to hold some of my patches in when at events. I already have one for my trading cards.

So I measured and drew up in AutoCAD Inventor, a holder to fit the patches into.
I used the same upper section and changed the text to R5-D4.

Here the upper and lower (holder section) have been glued together and some filler/primer has been applied. Once dried I gave it a light sanding, before adding another coat of primer.

Ledt this to dry overnight, before applying the matt black paint. This contrasts well with the grey of the box.

Above pic was taken right after spraying, hence glossy apperance.

I left it another day before hand painting the text with R5's red paint.

Here you can now see the black is matt in finish.

And once it was almost dried.....I installed the insert into the box and added patches.

The box will hold 15 patches, so when at event's I can have some on me and top up if needed. I just need to make a top piece now to stop them from moving about (there's a gap between the patches and the recess in the lid of the box.

I now also need either larger trouser pockets of some other form to hold/carry these boxes lol.

My R5-D4 Patch

Patches are heading off, all over the world.

My R5-D4 Patches.....sowing progress

After sowing on my R5 patch onto my fleece the other week, I thought it be good to do the same to my two current club polo tops. With the hot weather here in the UK, Saturday & Sunday's two events could be a bit warm, being inside buildings, to be wearing my fleece lol. So I got on with sowing them on.

The second one, I decided to remove my orange Pinewood one, that sat over my name on my chest, this is so to match up the tops & fleece.

 Off with the orange patch....

 And on with the new one....

Next is to sow the orange one onto the fleece sleeve.

If I get time, hopefully before the weekend.

My R5-D4 designed patches arrived.....

Yesterday afternoon, was a race for time!

The delivery drop-off time was close to when the wife would of not been home, as would of been on school run! I did leave a 'leave in a safe place' note, but still.....

Thankfully, they were delivered in time and here they are.

A 'sticker' for R5-D4

The free samples came last week and what a choice to choose from lol :D

Loads of different finishes to choose from, some I won't need, but a few that would be really cool to do. But for my first run, I went with 'Glossy coated'.

My design was drawn up in bit map, which for sending off for the patch, was ok, but when I loaded it up on the sticker site....I realised it wasn't going to right!

I don't have access to proper design programs and we're not able to download unauthorised programs, so I had to find a converter online. After searching and finding what I actually needed, I was able to get my bit maps converted to 'Vector' files.

I've uploaded my first design and they should be here in a week or so.

if anyone would like to purchase.

A 'sticker' for R5-D4 [patch]

A question was asked about possible 'stickers' of my patch design.

After some searching online, there's a lot of places that do reasonable batch's and die-cut to R5's dome shape and also offer sample's.

So this could also be a thing. Just waiting for free samples to come through to see which type would be best.
